Back in 2017, I moved to Spain from the UK at 23, thinking I’d stay for just a few months. My first job was on a yoga and walking retreat in a tiny white-washed village in Andalusia – idyllic and totally outside my comfort zone.
But as often happens in Spain, life took an unexpected turn.
One job led to another, I met my partner, and what was supposed to be a short adventure became a long-term love story.
Nine years later, I’m still here – living in Granada, hiking in the mountains, and watching sunsets over the Mediterranean.
Like many immigrants, I faced a steep learning curve when it came to settling in legally – navigating residency, documents, and local systems in a new language. But instead of letting the red tape defeat me, I leaned in.
Eventually, I joined an immigration consultancy, where I worked for 2.5 years. There, I gained in-depth knowledge of Spanish Digital Nomad Visa, residency options, and the ins and outs of helping non-Spaniards get established here.
